Sandy Sonner

Sandy began her fitness endeavors as an avid practitioner of aerobics and weight training. She began practicing Pilates in 2002 just as she was winding down her career at the Library of Congress. She was ready to pursue a new, more physically active direction. Sandy saw how Pilates helped strengthen her back and how it improved her posture, flexibility, strength, and at the same time making her body more proportioned. Pilates was what she wanted to teach so that others could discover the benefits of her passion.

She is certified through the Romana's Pilates, an authentic Pilates program which requires over 800 hours of training, many of which she spent training in New York City under Master Teacher Sari Mejia Santo. She was certified in 2006 and has been teaching since then. She regularly attends continuing education courses with master teachers and has completed Advanced Pilates courses.
