Mike Savitch has been passionately involved in athletics since the age of four. Growing up in the U.S. Virgin Islands surfing and playing baseball strongly influenced his life. Mike studied athletic training at Jacksonville University, and it was his desire to pursue a career in professional baseball. Mike’s athletic achievements advanced when he became a founding member of the Virgin Islands Bobsled team in 1995. Unfortunately, a knee injury in 1998 forced Mike to miss the Olympics in Nagano, Japan. After a successful rehab he was able to come back and compete in the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, one of his greatest athletic accomplishments. Mike has also competed and finished in the Florida Ironman, a 140.6 mile test of swimming, biking and running.
Mike became a personal trainer in 1998 through International Fitness Professionals Association and National Academy Of Sports Medicine. He specializes in sport specific training, weight loss, post rehab and cardiovascular conditioning. Mike now continues his passion for health and wellbeing with the opening of Verve Health & Fitness. |
