Wayne Williamson

Hello, everyone. My name is Wayne and welcome to VERVE Health & Fitness, the most dynamic training company in the Washington D.C. metro area.

My intrinsic interest in fitness began long before I became a certified personal trainer, but as a teenager playing baseball in Miami, where I enhanced my performance and strengthened my muscles with weight training. My profound interest in sports and fitness continued throughout high school and college, where I started training professionally out of the University of Miami's Rehabilitation Facility. There I worked with student athletes and local sport stars in the fields of pro baseball, basketball, hockey and the University's baseball and diving teams. My career continued to flourish in owning Shape Up Limited, my first entrepreneurial venture, a personal training company dedicated to sharing with others the healthy lifestyle that I have always lived by.

With an invitation from the Diabetes Association for a prestigious one-year training and lecture stint, I packed my bags and moved to Washington D.C. in 1996. Whereas I believed my move to a colder climate would last only one year, I fast discovered a void in D.C. of creative and qualified trainers: the demand far out-weighed the population of truly talented trainers. Thus, I thoroughly unpacked my bags for the long haul to establish and fulfill that niche.

I've trained and managed several Gold's Gyms in D.C. including the Rosslyn and Ballston locations, while simultaneously starting another company called Body Logic. The beauty of Body Logic was the quality of the trainers, who were well versed in a variety of disciplines.

The move to join VERVE in 2003 was a natural one, a company based on similar principles as Body Logic only on a bigger and broader scale. Having worked with VERVE since its inception, I can say that our very well rounded trainers can handle any situation. For me, it has been a match made in heaven. We are, hands-down, the training company that all others will be measured by.

As can be seen in my work history above and my passion for the business, my training style has been defined as "instinctive," with the ability to cater to any individual client's needs. I enjoy training with anyone who is motivated to make a change in his/her health for the better. Ideally, that is what trainers should do,not only to help you achieve your fitness goals but also to teach you to improve your life.

I would like to think I have changed many a lifestyle in my 14 years in the business.

See you at Verve!
