Michael Lin

FOUNDER

Michael Lin is the founder and CEO of Verve Health & Fitness, a premier boutique fitness company in Rosslyn, Virginia, serving discerning clients, luxury hotels, and corporate partners across Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia.

For more than two decades, Michael has redefined what it means to age well — helping adults 40 to 80 move better, feel stronger, and live longer without the fuss. Born in Yilan, Taiwan, to a family of doctors, he grew up surrounded by stethoscopes but decided barbells were more his style. After earning a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Barbara, he traded the lab coat for a stopwatch and founded Verve in 2000 to make fitness personal, precise, and actually enjoyable.

Under his leadership, Verve has partnered with icons like the Four Seasons, Salamander Resort, Watergate, Waldorf Astoria, and Rosewood, becoming the go-to name for concierge-level wellness.

Michael holds multiple certifications — from NASM and APEX Nutrition to post-rehab and golf conditioning — and his work has been featured in Shape Magazine, Washingtonian, WebMD, Capitol File, and Washington Life.

What sets him apart most? His genuine connection with clients — many of whom have become lifelong friends. For Michael, workouts often end in laughter, life talks, and the kind of camaraderie that makes training feel less like an appointment and more like catching up with good company.

When he’s not coaching or leading the Verve team, you’ll find him on the tennis court with his son, trying to keep up with teenagers less than half his age (with decreasing luck). His calm humor, high standards, and deep sense of connection continue to define Verve’s signature blend of precision, purpose, and longevity.
